Director Park Chan-wook’s new film “No Choice” has been officially invited to the main competition section of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, which will be held from August 27 to September 6.

The film tells the story of Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun), a laid-off office worker who goes to war to protect his family and home while seeking re-employment.
Including “No Choice,” 11 Korean films have made it to Venice’s main competition section, following works like The Surrogate Woman (1987) and Pieta (2012), with this being the first in 13 years.
Park previously won three awards, including the Young Lion Award, at Venice in 2005 with Lady Vengeance.
“No Choice” will premiere at the festival and then hit theaters in Korea in September.
