The group BTS and SEVENTEEN won five and three gold medals at the 37th Japan Gold Disc Awards on the 7th, respectively.

BTS won the "Best Asian Artist" for the fifth consecutive year, setting the record for the most awards in the category. This category is given to Asian artists who had the highest total sales last year, including CDs, music videos, and paid music.

BTS has downloaded "Best 3 Albums" (Asia) with their anthology album "Proof", "Music Video of the Year" (Asia) with their live video "BTS 2021 MUSTER SOUZOO", and "The Most Beautiful Moment" with the title song "Yet To Come".

SEVENTEEN won the Asia category for "Best 3 Albums" with their 4th full-length album "Face the Sun".

Fourth-generation K-pop girl groups also made awards. The group "IVE" received "New Artist of the Year" (Asia), and the group "Kep1er" received "Song of the Year by Streaming" (Asia) for "WADA".

The Japan Gold Disc Awards, established by the Japan Record Association in 1987, selects artists and works that have greatly contributed to the development of the music industry every year.
